NEXT MATCH (County Cup R4):
Founded in 2010 by player/manager, Adam Musson, we are now entering our sixth season, following five very successful seasons for the club. The club was awarded FA Charter Standard Adult Club status in 2014.
In our debut season, we were crowned champions of the Manchester Amateur Sunday League's 3rd Division winning the league by an impressive 18 points. The margin of this success meant that the club was rewarded with a double promotion up to Division 1.
In the club's second season in 2011/12 we achieved back to back titles, winning Division 1 and also reaching the semi-finals of the J A Kennedy Cup. We closed the campaign 5 points clear of second place, having scored an impressive 83 goals and gaining promotion to the MASFL Premier Division.
We have recently completed our third season in Premier Division, our highest placed finish being 3rd in the 2013/14 season, in which we also reached the final of the John Old Cup.
The aim for the upcoming 2015/16 season is to continue to improve on last season’s league position and to try and hopefully get our hands on some silverware.
We continue to play our home games in Didsbury village, sharing facilities with Burnage Metro Football Club. The lads were all really pleased to be able to enjoy improved pitches last season and have access to the newly refurbished club house. We are all looking forward to it feeling a lot more like home this season too.
The lads have put a real shift in over the summer and training will now resume at the Platt Lane Complex facilities during the season, where we benefit from the excellent guidance of FA qualified coach, Mike.
The club has recently secured a 3 year sponsorship deal with Urban Grille, a Didsbury restaurant and takeaway establishment. This continues the tradition of AFC Didbsury joining forces with local businesses. We would like to thank them for their generous support towards the running costs of the club and look forward to this exciting parntership. We are sure they will make their money back several times over in the trade they will receive from the lads as the food is simply top notch :-)
We also continue to support the local community and have raised significant funds for local children’s charities Wood Street Mission and Francis House in recent seasons through our fundraising activities. Francis House will remain our official charity for the coming season.
On the field, the standard in the league continues to improve each year and as such we are always on the lookout for new players who can improve the squad. Any player wishing to get involved should send their details through to firstname.lastname@example.org
For now, we look ahead to building on our success and ensuring that each player who pulls on the shirt enjoys their football and time with the club
